The documentary is about the search for the past embarked on by two friends, one Turkish and the other Armenian regarding the events that occurred in the Ottoman Empire during the rule of the Young Turks. Their journey takes them to Istanbul, then to eastern Turkey as many Armenians still call it Western Armenia and eventually to Erevan, Armenia. It’s an emotional, brave and remarkable journey to say the least and a must watch for every Armenian and Turk.

After the broadcast on national television, it had sparked a big debate in the Netherlands among the Turkish, Dutch and Armenian communities. The friendship between Sinan and Ara is being tested all the way trough while trying to find out the truth about their own family history related to the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

Watching the documentary is an emotional rollercoaster that will make u cry, leave you in shock and feel hopeful. My hope is that it will be a small start for the discovery of the truth for many and the start of a healing process that is more than a century overdue.
